David Scott's Trail

from A Reclaimed Interval by Bombay Acoustic People

about

A mule path runs from just outside the North Eastern Indian hill town of Mawphlang, Meghalaya through the lower Himalayas into Bangaladesh. Though only a small portion of it is accessible to hikers it is a fascinating journey through widely differing landscapes. Icy cold streams running over giant pebbles cut through brilliant green hillsides that give way to sprawling meadows. An expansive rock-face looms menacingly against a shocking blue sky. After four bracing hours you melt at the sight of a hot pork rice meal that awaits you at a quaint little joint a hundred steps from the end of the trail.
